Mobile Police Station

A self-contained police station on wheels: a service counter, an interview space, communications and its own power, so a precinct can put a staffed presence on a street corner without building anything. It covers traffic services, patrol control, emergency call intake and community policing.

Key facts

Base chassisFord Transit or equivalent, long wheelbase, high roof
Working areaService counter, seated interview position, records storage
PowerOn-board generator or large auxiliary battery bank with shore-power inlet
ClimateInsulated body with independent heating and cooling for year-round staffing
CommunicationsRadio, mobile data and a public-address outlet at the counter
DeliveryComplete vehicle, fit-out to your service workflow

A mobile police station is judged by one thing: can an officer work a full shift inside it. That means a counter at the right height for a member of the public standing outside, a seat and a table for taking a statement, storage that locks, light that does not glare on a screen, and heating or cooling that holds for eight hours without the engine running.

The conversion is therefore an interior architecture problem before it is a vehicle problem. We lay out the working positions first, then route power, data and ventilation around them. The generator or battery bank is sized to the actual load of a shift rather than to a nameplate, and the shore-power inlet lets the vehicle run from a street cabinet where one is available.

Exterior treatment matters for legitimacy. The livery, the counter hatch and the lighting are specified so the vehicle reads as a police facility rather than a parked van, which is what makes people approach it in the first place.

Configurations

Each configuration is a starting point — equipment, layout and finish are set per order.

01Community service

Counter, interview seat, notice board and public address for neighbourhood policing.

02Traffic service

Adds document processing, camera review station and a queue-management layout.

03Command post

Reconfigured as a small control room with radio bank, video wall and map board.

04Event deployment

Fast-set-up variant with awning, external lighting and a public information screen.

Where it is used

The same platform carries different fit-outs depending on who operates it.

High-density urban districts

A staffed police presence on a street that has no spare building to convert.

Temporary and seasonal sites

Festivals, construction zones and border crossings that need policing for weeks, not years.

Rural service points

Scheduled visits to villages where a permanent station is not justified.

Questions buyers ask

Can it operate off-grid?

Yes, with the generator or the auxiliary battery option. Autonomy depends on the load of your shift, which we ask you to define so the system can be sized honestly.

Is the interior accessible for wheelchair users?

A lift or ramp can be specified on the counter side, but it changes the floor height and the layout. Raise the requirement at specification stage rather than after the body is built.

Can we use our own IT and radio equipment?

Yes. Send the equipment list and rack dimensions; the counter and cabinet layout will be built around them.
