A large fixed-body command vehicle on a Volvo heavy chassis, built for operations that last days rather than hours. Satellite, trunked radio, MESH networking and video conferencing run from one integrated rack, and the interior provides four to eight working positions with room to stand up.
| Base chassis | Volvo heavy-truck chassis, 6x2 or 6x4 |
|---|---|
| Body | Large fixed box body, insulated, with roof platform and equipment lockers |
| Communications | Satellite, trunked radio, MESH and video conferencing in an integrated rack |
| Working positions | Four to eight operator positions plus a small briefing area |
| Power | On-board generator with UPS for communications equipment |
| Delivery | Complete vehicle with commissioning and operator training |
There are two kinds of command vehicle: ones that arrive at an incident for six hours, and ones that become the headquarters for a week. The second kind is a building with an engine. It needs a floor that people can stand on all day, climate that holds overnight, a generator that runs for days rather than hours, and communications that do not have to be re-established every time the vehicle moves.
The Volvo chassis provides the payload and the electrical capacity for that. The body is a fixed box rather than an expansion, because a fixed box can be insulated better, sealed better, and fitted with a proper roof platform for antennas without the compromises a slide-out demands.
The communications rack is designed for coexistence: satellite, trunked radio and MESH share the same antenna farm without interfering, and the UPS keeps the radios alive through a generator changeover. That last detail is the one that matters at three in the morning when the generator is being refuelled.
Each configuration is a starting point — equipment, layout and finish are set per order.
Eight positions, video conferencing, satellite and a small briefing room.
Dense radio and MESH fit-out with a reduced working area.
Configured for medical coordination with patient tracking displays and dispatch links.
Built for power and water utilities coordinating repair crews across a wide area.
The same platform carries different fit-outs depending on who operates it.
Flood, storm and wildfire operations that run for a week or more.
Grid and water utilities coordinating crews across a wide service area.
Multi-day deployments where a fixed command post is impractical.
Every unit is re-engineered to your specification.
With the generator and fuel capacity specified for your deployment length, yes. Tell us how many days and what the communications load is; we will size fuel and power accordingly.
The fixed body is preferred for this size because insulation and sealing are better and the roof can carry a full antenna farm. If floor area is the priority, our expandable box vehicle is the better platform.
No. The antenna farm is stowed for travel and raised on site. We provide the operating procedure and training.
