Shipping, warranty and support

What warranty comes with a converted vehicle?

There are two warranties, and they are separate: the chassis manufacturer's warranty, which runs through their local dealer network, and the conversion warranty, which covers the body, electrical installation and equipment fitting work. The quotation states the period and the exclusions for each, because conflating them is how disputes start.

In detail

The chassis warranty covers the original vehicle as delivered by the manufacturer: engine, transmission, chassis frame, cab electrics. It is honoured through the manufacturer's dealer network, which is one practical reason to choose a chassis that is well supported in the destination market.

The conversion warranty covers the work the converter performed: body structure and sealing, electrical installation, plumbing, paint, and the mounting of equipment. It does not normally cover the equipment itself, which carries the equipment manufacturer's own warranty through their local agent.

Consumables and wear items are excluded, as they are on any vehicle: brake pads, filters, tyres, batteries after a defined period, and damage caused by accident, misuse or unauthorised modification. These exclusions are normal and should be stated plainly rather than buried.

The practical question is how a claim is handled at a distance. A warranty that requires the vehicle to return to the factory is worth very little. What matters is whether there is a local partner who can inspect, and whether the supplier ships parts and gives technical guidance when they do not. That should be agreed before the order, not after the first failure.

Further questions

Does the warranty cover the medical equipment?

Equipment carries its own manufacturer warranty through their local agent. Our warranty covers the mounting, power supply and installation of that equipment, not the device itself.

What is the claim process?

Report with photographs and a description, we assess remotely, then either ship the part or authorise local repair. For significant claims a third-party inspection may be requested so both sides work from the same evidence.
